So school is out and you need to get your young ones ready for day camp, right? We know this can be a stressful time period for some parents to get their little ones on the go and into a new routine. Especially with the sun being out late at night, kids just seem to have endless energy that can often be a lot to handle. Let Gusti give you a hand at the best ways to get your children prepared for summer camp. This way, you can spend less time preparing and more time enjoying quality time with your kids. Now who doesn’t want that?

Before Camp – Scope it Out

In order to not feel stressed about sending your child to camp in an unknown territory, the best thing to do is check out their website, social media, and promotional information. In knowing exactly what the camp will look like, anxiety levels will be greatly reduced to feel more comfortable in knowing what you’re getting your kids into.

Be sure to involve your kids in the selection process so they don’t feel forced or neglected in the decision. After all, you want them to have fun! Take extra care to look into details if the camp is offering a specific theme throughout the summer so you don’t get stuck with Karate lessons if that’s not what your kid is wanting to learn. Also, important to note if meal plans and day care services are included or will be additional fees.

The Big Day – Checklist

Since we all know that getting your kids up in the morning can sometimes be a struggle, we figured it would be useful to have a checklist to put your mind at ease once the big day rolls around. As you prepare for the camp, be sure to pack up the following:

  • Sunscreen
  • Sunglasses
  • Hat or bandana
  • Umbrella and rain gear
  • Flip Flops
  • Bug repellant
  • Water bottle

Packing doesn’t seem so bad anymore, does it? On behalf of the entire Gusti team, we wish you luck in preparing for this special event in your child’s summer of 2017. We hope your little ones will create amazing memories and that it will be an extraordinary summer for your entire family!
